Begin praying that God will prepare adult leaders to become sensitive to the leadership of the Holy Spirit and encourage others to develop an on-mission lifestyle. Use the following outline to build a successful Challengers program. Refer to chapter eight of Leading Challengers for more information on getting Challengers started.
Build Support:
Full support from the pastor, youth minister, On-Mission Team and other church membership is an essential factor in developing a successful Challenger program. For more information on building a solid base of support for Challengers in your church refer to chapter three of Leading Challengers.
Gather Materials:
Leading Challengers manual is the resource guide for starting, organizing and continuing a successful Challengers organization. Challengers materials can be downloaded from the Challngers Website at www.challengerscentral.com or ordered from the North American Mission Board at www.namb.net/catalog or call (866) 407-6262 to receive a free copy of the NAMB On Mission Resource catalog.
Enlist and Train Leaders:
Leadership is an essential factor in developing and maintaining a successful Challengers organization. For more information concerning enlisting and training Challengers leaders refer to chapter seven of Leading Challengers.
Make a Plan:
Work with leaders to develop for your churches Challenger organization. Resources for planning are included in Leading Challengers and the Challengers Planbook.
Enlist Challengers:
Work with leaders in developing a prayerful list of potential Challenger members. Visit with each person on your list and their parents, explain what Challengers is about and discuss the plans that have been made. Invite them to participate in the Challengers organization.
Conduct Meetings:
Work with leaders in conducting Challenger meetings. Resources for planning and conducting Challenger meetings are included in Leading Challengers and the Challengers Planbook.
Register Your Group:
