Earthquake in Haiti
Haiti was hit by its strongest earthquake in more than 200 years, causing what is being described as a "catastrophe of major proportions." Heavy casualties are feared after numerous buildings were leveled by the 7.0 magnitude earthquake.
At this point, a major concern for the area is clean water. Texas Baptist Men is beginning preparations for clean water to be delivered to those affected. If you would like to donate to help support this endeavor, please contact Jeanette Nichols at 214-828-5351 or you may donate online by going to the donations tab on the front page of our website. You may also mail your check to Texas Baptist Men at 5351 Catron Drive, Dallas, Texas 75227.
Another immediate need is for medical equipment such as portable X-ray machines. Donations of this equipment should be directed to Dick Talley, State Disaster Relief Director, at the address shown above or call him at 214-707-4780.
As further relief efforts are finalized, they will be published on our website.
