Volunteers needed June 20, 21 and 22 from 10:00am to 3:00pm to help stuff envelopes for a big mailout.  Lunch will be provided.

Texas Baptist Men Disaster Relief is coordinating our efforts with the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Missouri Baptist Convention.

Sunday, June 5th is TBM Men's Day in churches across Texas.

The TBM Search Committee consists of nine members of the Personnel Committee, the President of TBM (Tommy Malone) and the immediate past President (Al Wise).

Don Gibson, TBM Church Renewal Consultant, has been named as the Interim Executive Director for Leo Smith who recently retired after seven years as executive director.

Wednesday night, April 27th, as usual, I was at First Baptist Church of Boerne for our normal Wednesday church-wide evening meal, when a man and his wife and young daughter joined our table.

The WMU of Texas is partnering with Literacy ConneXus to provide children’s books at their annual meeting. Texas Baptist Men participated in this project by providing materials to build the bookcases.

During Texas Baptist Men’s 43rd annual convention, held in Mesquite on February 18, they elected the organizational officers and ministries leadership for 2011.

Our Retiree Builder Masons have been here since September 20th  laying the brick for our new John La Noue Disaster Relief Complex.

On August 2, 2010, the Retiree Builder's sent some of the Brick Masons to begin laying the bricks for our expansion project.

Look at us go! The construction crew has added another 3,500 square feet of concrete just infront of the new building and are presently working on the roof.

Now that the concrete has been poured, the next phase of our building is under way. They are now erecting the steel beams. Mother nature has tried to put a damper on the progress.

That's how much concrete it took this morning to fill-in the 1,500 sq. ft. foundation of our building expansion project.  If you have driven by our facilities lately you have noticed a lot of holes being dug, dirt being moved around.

Hispanic Baptist Men and boys have been very active in recent months. From Paraguay to Cuba and Mexico, across Texas from Nuevo Laredo, Alice, Eagle Pass, Galveston and Tyler.

If you have passed by the TBM office building lately, you might have seen a lot of dust in the air and mounds of dirt appearing out of nowhere.  We are finally able to start the ball rolling on our building expansion.

In the midst of all the construction going on, TBM's Executive Director Leo Smith, is "hard at work" assisting the Retiree Builders when he is not performing his executive duties.  

The weekend prior to the 1st of September, RV’s started rolling in to the Robert E. Dixon Mission Equipping Center (The Texas Baptist Men Headquarters) to start construction on the new addition to the executive suite.

Dust has been flying, hammers have been pounding and nails have been driven.  Things at the Texas Baptist Mens building are really jumping.

Buel Baptist Church, Cleburne, has built a family life building and is seeking volunteers to lay approximately 2000 sq.ft. of tile in the kitchen, dining room and rest rooms. They have the tile on hand.

We are in need of volunteers to act as a greeter to the Dixon Building, because of the building expansion.

The preparation work for the foundation was finished on August 19th and the concrete was poured that afternoon.

If you drive by the Texas Baptist Men's Dixon building you will see a lot of dust being stirred up.  We have started the office expansion.

Friday evening, February 20, 2009 God blessed an enthusiastic crowd representing ministries of
Texas Baptist Men at the Annual Convention in Dallas. Along with business reports from the Executive Committees, everyone present was blessed with missionary testimonies from Jerry Smith (Mongolia), Roy Stamford (India). Mary Kay and Fred Posey (Nigeria) and Tony Garcia (Hispanic works).

Sixteen years ago a group of Texas Baptist Men leaders looked down through the years and had a sense from the Lord that TBM was going to need additional monies to help with its ministries.

After a time of prayer, C.J. Humphrey, Wilton Davis, Joe T. Lenamon, Andy Andreason, Olen Miles and Fred Weisen brought a proposal to the TBM Executive Board that TBM should form its own charitable foundation to receive funds for the ministries of TBM.  It was named the TBM Forever Foundation.  Only the dividends would be used and the principle would be placed in an endowment account until Jesus returns.  This foundation is independent of all other organizations and has its own board of Trustees.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Cameron Byler, a pioneer in national disaster relief and men’s missions within the Southern Baptist Convention, died Apr. 28 in San Antonio after a brief illness. He would have turned 80 May 11.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. May 3 at Trinity Baptist Church in San Antonio, where he had lived since moving from Tennessee last July. James Porch, executive director of the Tennessee Baptist Convention, will officiate.

Texas Baptist Men is forty years old this year.What a history of God’s activities and what great memories each of us have. I was asked, by the chairman of a pulpit committee, what I knew about Royal Ambassadors.I was smart enough to answer that I did not know much but I was willing to learn.
